FACTORY FLOOR

SERIES IN DEVELOPMENT

Rennas_Histórias.jpg

The work is constructed from a repetitive surface that, at first glance, suggests order. Upon closer inspection, variations, accumulations, and deviations emerge, challenging this structure. The pictorial marks operate as scattered records, evoking multiple presences. It points to that which remains even when the system attempts to standardize.

Here, repetition imposes itself in a more continuous and silent way. The surface approaches a closed field, where the system seems to operate without interruption.
The presence of the waterproofing membrane reinforces the idea of containment and isolation, as if the image itself were sealed. The work is sustained by this density: a space where almost nothing escapes, but where it is still possible to perceive internal tensions.

In this work, the repetitive surface is traversed by a diffuse, almost ghostly apparition. The figure does not fully assert itself, but neither does it disappear.
The title refers to the idea of registration, numbering, identification — procedures that transform the individual into data.
“Matrícula 347” is built upon this tension: between presence and erasure, between the body and the system that attempts to absorb it.
