About the Artist
Rennas Guimarães is a visual artist and researcher based in Rio de Janeiro. Her work explores the relationships between industrial materiality, repetition, containment, and rupture, using rubber flooring, mats, and modular structures as a field for visual and spatial construction.
Starting with the Factory Floor series, his research develops within the tension between standardization and deviation, where seemingly stable systems begin to reveal flaws, shifts, and instabilities. In a recent development, he advances to the Color System, in which color acts as a disruptive element within the structural logic, introducing expansion, contamination, and the possibility of escape.
Her work combines painting, installation, and spatial occupation, displacing industrial materials from their original function and activating relationships between body, space, and system.
Between 2005 and 2007, she participated in solo and group exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in addition to working on art, culture, and curatorial projects. In 2026, she is preparing an activation through the occupation of a multipurpose room, with the project "System in Flight: the body in the system."
She also develops activities in art education, combining artistic practice, aesthetic experimentation, and critical training in visual arts.

In her practice, she investigates color patterns, chemical processes, and reactions on surfaces. Materiality is what determines her creative action.
